companyProfile_01aGroth Equipment Corporation of Louisiana (dba GroQuip) is well known throughout the gulf south for being a high quality, long-term supplier of information, products, and services with the end goal of being our customers premier pressure process solutions provider. Our customers are in the chemical, petrochemical, petroleum refining, oil & gas production, air separation, pulp and paper, power utilities, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, maritime, fertilizer, and gas processing/distribution businesses. These industries all rely on the mechanics and physics of pressure to accomplish work in their processes.


companyProfile_02GroQuip was formed in Houston Texas in August of 1960. It began as a manufacturer’s representative, distributor and re-manufacturer of pressure relief valves sold to the Gulf Coast refining and petrochemical industries. GroQuip opened its Houston Texas manufacturing facilities in 1971 and by 1972 had expanded its market into Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama and the Florida panhandle. In September of 1999, Mr. Edward Groth Jr. sold the Houston manufacturing facility, Groth Corporation, to Continental Disc Corporation and continued to own and operate both GroQuip Louisiana operations. In July of 2004, Curtiss-Wright Flow Control Corporation acquired GroQuip from Mr. Edward Groth Jr. Critical Flow Solutions, an affiliate of Sun Capital Partners acquired GroQuip from Curtiss-Wright Flow Control Corporation in May of 2015. In May of 2016 we were acquired from Critical Flow Solutions by John H. Carter Company.

Today, GroQuip works closely with Farris Engineering and several other original equipment manufacturers (OEM’s) for the development of new and re-engineered pressure valves, custom actuators, and a variety of unique industry product needs. Additionally, GroQuip retains a close working relationship with Continental Disc Corporation for sales of rupture discs and explosion panels. Other industry partners include ATI for controls and actuators, Enardo for API Tank Protection, QTS for level gauges and level controls, and FES for pressure hazard analysis (PHA) software solutions.

Sales and Service

GroQuip’s personnel are on-call to serve 24/7 and have an extensive inventory of pressure relief and pressure/vacuum relief valves with a significant inventory of spare parts to meet all our customer needs in a timely manner. We are an authorized distributor or factory representative for what we sell, providing a comprehensive in-house and on-site service team for all your pressure processing needs.

GroQuip is a certified repair center and authorized by the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors to repair and re-certify ASME Section I and Section VIII Code Stamped pressure relief valves as well as pressure/vacuum valves for low-pressure API 620 and APR-650 tank applications. We also service a wide range of isolation and control valves.
